  • Later as the meeting dwindled down there was an astronomical rise in bread prices and this caused the people of Paris to start a riot. They began to riot in July of 1789. They went on a search for weapons and gunpowder. Which led them to bastille, bastille is a state prison in paris. The mob that attacked them were very angry and aggressive. They chose to attack here as a symbol of the monarch's dictatorial rule. The monument that they had to attack defined moments in the revolution that were soon to follow.
  • The past riot on Bastille showed others about the rioting. The women's march on Versailles in October of 1789. So 3 months after the riot. The woman marched on Versailles, demanding reforms. They took king Louis XVI to paris. They started the march as a reaction to food scarcity/ anti-revolutionary actions. As they were taken king Louis Marie Antoinette was there as they were asking for bread and food. She was so out of touch with what the people really needed, instead of giving them grains to make bread she only gave them something that would not help. She didn't care about what the people needed.
