- This started the first public series of massacres, committed by the committee of public safety. The head of this committee was Maximillien Roberspierre. He was the one that ordered most of the killings and had most of the ideas.
- the king of Frances execution triggered the reign of terror that lasted form September 1793- July 1794. There was a committee that formed the provisional government and war cabinet. This was all state sanctioned violence. This was public executions and mass killings of thousands.
- Concluding the horrible reign of terror, they wanted to try an experiment of government, called the directory they created this to get a reaction to the puritanical dictatorship that existed under the reign of terror. This directory would choose government ministers, army generals, tax collectors. Since this was an experiment it ended when Napoleon Bonaparte came into dictatorship.

- There is a new king of France. Napoleon takes the power, his crowning symbolizes the end of the french revolution. He reconstructed the French education system. He also helped reform parts of the government. (Administration Department) Napoleon was all about doing good. He brought hope to his country and made them believe in him and their country again.
