- During the French empire. There were 3 estates 1st estate was the clergy, 2nd estate was nobalty and 3rd estate was the commoners. The 1st and 2nd estate had lots of money whereas the third estate had barley enough for food.
- It’s time ! We need to make a new constitution
- My dear friends ! Injustice has been rendered to us .
- The common cause of this was because of taxes. The third estate despite the third estate being much larger. Always lost because of majority ruling
- Before an estate meeting was planned to start, the 1st and second estate locked out the 3rd estate so they had no say in the vote.
- After being locked out of the estate building. The 3rd estate walked across the street and stayed in a tennis court and wrote out a new constitution called ¨The Tennis Court Oath¨
- After the tennis court oath was constructed the 3rd estate needed weapons to defend themselves. They went to a near by prison called the bastille and stole all of there gun powder and then destroyed the prison using only hammers.
- During dinner the king was captured and arrest for the various taxes that he had passed. The people who captured him were a group and third estate cleaning ladies who worked at the king's palace.
