- Siddhartha Gautama was born in the 500s BCE in Nepal (india) he grew up as a wealthy Hindu prince and had all the luxuriates he desired his father wanted him to be a king.
- Ugh
- *Cough* *Cough*
- sidatha’s father shielded him from everything so he would become a king and not a spiritual leader. a fortan teller told his father that he would take these two paths as a result he was hidden from the truth and never saw suffering… poor sad or sick people.
- after he left the castle he saw 4 poor people these people were sick, old, and depressed after he saw those 4 people he wanted to find out the truth about life and death
- were almost there!
- sidatha started his search for the truth about life by becoming a ascetics which are people who leave everything they own behind he was like this for 5 years.
- after he spent 5 years in the forest with the asectics he realised that this is not how i can find out what life and death is so he left the camp he went deper into the forest and he found a tree on top of a hill and he sat under the tree then he went into a meditation that lasted 49 days and when he came out of that meditation he had reached enlightenment.
- After sidartha found enlightenment he was so happy he ran back to the city and got his wife and son. He told them to come with me and along the way to there destination sidartha tried to get more people into his way of life some said no but some said yes and over time more and more people joined buddhism and sidartha taught them how to reach enlightenment and people still try to reach enlightenment today.
