  • The Industrial Revolution was a time period when things were starting to be mass produced, and products did not have to be made by hand. Now, that may or may not have fueled the war. Using machinery to make everyday items was a genius idea, because it was extremely efficient for everyone, and made life in the United States much easier.

  • "...And I further declare and make known, that such persons [African Americans] of suitable condition, will be received into the armed service of the United States to garrison forts, positions, stations, and other places, and to man vessels of all sorts in said service."
  • After Lincoln declared that African Americans were allowed to join the US military, I believe that this helped out the Union a lot. I would assume that most of them that choose to join the Army would be on the side with the North because they are the ones that gave them the freedom to do so. Furthermore, this would help the North to carry out their Anaconda plan more effectively, with more people on their side to surround the area until the South's surrender. I believe that this one decision was the difference between loss and victory for the Union, and this is what eventually made them the most successful in the,,.
