- He said he liked me in the past. I'm just trying to give it a shot and see what happens because I'm trying to get work and get my life in order to make you and myself proud for once by getting a job and sticking with it!
- You know nothing about sporting goods. Why are you going there? Oliver has hundreds of other men to look at and why does he choose you?
- I know something about it.
- How about I make a big breakfast in the morning for both of you?
- Perfect he knows something about it!
- Stop talking when I'm talking. Now, do you know anything about sporting goods?
- I don't know I haven't met him yet.
- Oh now your just getting ahead of yourself, I'm going to sleep.
- Well how much are you going to be paid by Oliver?
- In this beginning scene, we see Biff and Willy going back and forth to each other about why Biff is going to see Bill Oliver in the morning and whether it's the right decision. Willy doesn't think that this is the decision that Biff should be making at this point in his life because he believes that biff isn't qualified for this job and doesn't know how to sell something.
- While they are both arguing, Linda tries to calm everyone down by offering to make a big breakfast in the morning and they can finish talking there. However, Willy quickly tells her to be quiet and then asks Biff what he knows about sporting goods if anything, still going off his hunch that this job isn't going to work for him.
- As the scene comes to an end, Willy asks Biff what he is going to be paid by Oliver, and biff says that's doesn't know yet because he hasn't met with him yet. once Willy hears this news, he yells at Biff and says that he is getting ahead of himself and that he is going too fast into this interview without knowing the full details. He then heads up to bed frustrated.
