Kelly is a new student at Oakland Elementary. She is very nervous for her first day of school.
Hello class! Let us give a warm welcome to our new student, Kelly Rake!
Kelly, why don't you find a open seat.
As Kelly finds her seat, she hears whispers from the back of the class.
Look at her dress!
Eww she looks weird!
Kelly is feeling sad, nervous, and worried that the other kids won't like her.
I hope this day gets better.
It is now lunch time. The students are walking to the lunch room.
She probably can't even afford food.
She is so weird she is isn't even eating.
Kelly sat all alone at lunch. She was not in the eating mood.
It is finally time to go home. Kelly has to ride the bus for the first time. She hopes the bus ride goes better than school did.
Watch this!
Ouch!
The kids at school were not welcoming. Kelly had a terrible first day.
Welcome home! What is wrong Kelly?
I am never going back to school!
Kelly, why do you not like school? You used to love school!
Everyone hates me! The kids keep making fun of me and throwing things at me.
I will talk to your teacher. Keep your head up, you will eventually make some friends.
Kelly's mom called her teacher. She was not happy. Kelly's teacher suggested they get the school counselor involved.
The Next Day Kelly has a talk with the school counselor.
Hello Kelly! I am the counselor. My name is Mrs. Lee. Why don't we take a seat.
Bullying is when a person harms you with unkind words or actions. Typically it happens more than once. Kelly, it sounds like you are being bullied.
Kelly and Mrs. Lee talk about what has been happening in school.
I am very disappointed in you three! We have zero tolerance for bullying in our school! You must apologize to Kelly.
We are so sorry Kelly! Do you want to be our friend?
Kelly has made some new best friends and is no longer being bullied at school! The End.
