- Gemma Gets home and is confused and wondering why and who would throw a Frankenstein mask at the window.
- Gemma is doing research on Haven and how it relates to her dads company and what he said about it.
- Gemma convinces Pete to Take her to Haven institute. Gemma is overthinking her decisions.
- " As she watched a third cop emerged, a woman, holding what at first appeared to be a lumpy rock in an improbable shade of green between two gloved hands. But as she shifted to show her colleague , Gemmas whole body went cold. It wasn't a rock , but a Halloween Frankenstein mask stapled at the neck,"(Pg16 Oliver).
- Gemma meets a stranger named Jake and they go exploring into Haven.
- " Gemma wasn't actually expecting much when googling Haven. But she decided to google Haven plus her last name Ives. Then instantly there was a document about Haven institute. Then she saw a PDF of her fathers company and a picture of him with haven istute. Gemma goes not know much but knows that there had to be some reason for her father leaving his company,"(Pg 45 Oliver).
- Gemma and Jake discover replicas while trying to escape sjdfsh and not get caught.
- "All morning Gemma was waiting for Pete to run out of things to say. She soon realized it was a lost cause, as were her attempts to ignore him. But Gemma struck with it since he was her only ride to Florida and the Haven institute. Gemma did not want to back down now,"(Pg63 Oliver).
- Hairless Kidnaps Gemma and Pete forcing them into and old hotel room.
- "After and hour of walking they meet no one and hear no one except for snakes and lizard creatures. The forests were full of channels and very foggy. Every few minutes Jake stopped to look at his compass for directions,"(Pg119 Oliver).
- " The stranger took an uncertain step forward and nearly tripped over the girl lying dead in the mud, and she drew a sharp breath and stopped, holding herself very still. When she looked at Gemma her face changed. They both stared at each other terrified ,"(Pg127 Oliver).
- "Huh, that is funny Hairless said without smiling. I think you've wanted to know all about it. " What do you mean Gemma said. Hairless looked at her with those sad dog eyes and said Well that is where you were made insist it,"(Pg227Oliver).
