- Bilbo Baggins was inside his house not knowing what would happen today. Or what he would get himself into.
- Suddenly a man was at Bilbos house. Bilbo greeted the wizard and asked what he wanted. The wizard was surprised Bilbo greeted him in a disrespectful way. Then he introduced himself as Gandalf the wizard. Gandalf asked bilbo if he wanted to go on a adventure. Bilbo declined because Hobbits have a boring and uneventful lifestyle.
- The next day went by and Bilbo woke up with a knock on his door, it was a dwarf. When he opened the door the dwarf host let himself in, in a little while the same thing happened over and over and over. Bilbo was very overwhelmed. He was giving the dwarfs food, mead, tea, and cakes. When Bilbo heard the door get knocked again, he was so furious that he flung the door open and some more dwarves face planted, including Thorin. (a very important dwarf) Behind all of these dwarfs finally was Gandalf.

- But Bilbo and Gandalf smoked for a while and while Bilbo was unaware Gandalf scratched a sign on his door. The symbol meant that he is a bugler and is looking for adventure.
- Throughout the night Thorin, Gandalf, and the other dwarves were talking about how they were going to steal treasure from a very powerful dragon named “Smaug”. They also talked about how only a hobbit could steal the treasure, because there was a secret doorway to the treasure that only a hobbit like bilbo could fit in. Before they all went to bed(at Bilbos house of course) Gandalf gave Thorin a map and a key.
- When bilbo was trying to sleep Thorin sang a song before his ad venture in the morning and it made bilbo even more scared and nervous for morning.
