- The snow and storms represent the weather changes and patterns, as Holden faces intense struggle that representation. This describes the different stages Holden goes through while struggling, and then learning and cleansing .
- The green dress is nostalgia, or in this chapter, it symbolizes his miss of purity and love, in other words his mommy issues are very prominent in this chapter. The dress overall represents the commitment and child like understanding he used to have in his relationships, or what he wished he had. Specifically, with his brother. It can also be the symbol of money and greed.
