- Who was that?? How do you know them? Where is she from? Why were you watching the moive with them?
- Nosy: Negative, Nosy can be defined as showing too much curiosity about other people's affairs. Nosy is negative because it can come off as arrogant and pushy. The only reason you are trying to budge in is for the gossip or trash talking aspect of the conversation. Being nosy is disrespectful because not everything is your business where people do not like people who budge in.
- Oh um they were just a friend?
- Curious: Neutral, Curious can be defined as to be eager to know or learn something. Curious is neutral because curiosity doesn't come off as disrespectful. Where you are strictly just wondering, possibly because you are interested in a certain topic, where if you're nosy you're pushy and want to know just because you want to know.

- Interested: Positive, Interested can be defined as showing curiosity or concern about something or someone; having a feeling of interest. Interested is a positive connotation because the association behind the actual meaning of the word does not come off as nosy or disrespectful. The tone of Interested stays respectful and does not come across as rude. An example of this is “I'm interested in this topic, or activity."
