  • The Boston Tea Party was on December 16, 1773. It was a protest by the Sons of Liberty. They threw 342 chests of tea into the water, and it cost the British around one million dollars in today's money.
  • Proclamation of 1763
  • The Boston massacre was when British soldiers fired at people in Boston. There are many sides to the story that say some different things. Some people say it was unprovoked, but others say the colonists attacked first.
  • Stamp Act

  • The Coercive Acts were laws that put British in complete control of Massachusetts. They made the leaders all people of the British government. They closed Boston's ports. They let British Soldiers live in your home. They let British soldiers get tried in England, and they could basically get away with murder.
  • Townsend Acts
  • I have to search your home, and I don't need a warrant.
  • The Proclamation of 1763 said that the land that the colonists won after the war was given to the Indians. This happened because the British didn't want to help the colonists and get into more debt.

  • The Stamp Act was the first tax the British put on the colonists. The colonists protested this tax by burning stamps they stole from a stamp building.
  • There are five Townsend acts, but only two are important. The revenue act put taxes on British imports like paper, paint, lead, glass, and tea. It also lets British soldiers search your house. The Vice admilarity court act made colonist smugglers have to be tried without a jury.
