National Conventions
Then the final nominees will select a running mate to be thier vice president.

Electoral College
So how does this electoral college thing work
When people cast their vote, they are actually voting for a group of people called electors. The number of electors each state gets is equal to its total number of Senators and Representatives in Congress. A total of 538 electors form the Electoral College. Each elector casts one vote following the general election. The candidate with more than half (270) votes wins
There is a national convention to say who the final running candidate is for each party and they then campaign around the country to get people to vote for them.
Inauguration
I do solemnly swear that I will faithfully execute the Office ofPresident of the United States, and will to the best of my ability, preserve, protect and defend theConstitution of the United States.
The citizens vote for who they belive is the best for the job. The votes go to the electoral college.
Actually we are voting towards the electoral college
Each state has a certain amount of votes based on the state and there are 538 votes in total. The president with the most gets elected.
Oh I get it now. Thanks!
The president does his final inauguration and becomes the president of the United States.
