- In 1789, France had found itself in major debt crisis. Louis XVI had raised taxes to solve this issue but, this most effected the Third Estate.
- Due to the revolution the price of food had gone up. Peasants had few money, a piece of bread would have to last for a week. Many lower class people died due to starvation.
- The king really needs to stop taxing us!
- Enlightment Philosophers talking about the king.
- Stop talking about just taxes but, we all need equal rights!!
- Tennis Court Oath On June 20, 1989 Third estate, National Assembly, decides to hold a meeting on tennis courts. This meaning of this meeting was for vowing not to separate until the constitution had been established by France.
- Storming of the BastilleOn July 14, 1789 the Third Estate made some demands to the king. One of those demands was that commoners should have more say in government.
- We want more say!
- On October 5, 1789 women demanded more bread. They also demanded for bread to be at a fair price.
- WE WANT MORE BREAD!!!!
