- World War 1 is definitely one of the most well-known events in the past of this world. It has impacted many countries and took the lives of 20 million, as well as severely injuring a further 21 million.
- There are many factors to WW1 which gives countries pressure and tension to act against each other, but there was one trigger which ignited the spark of death. Before this story is told, there has to be some introductions.
- Sarajevo, Bosnia (28th June 1914)
- This is Archduke Franz Ferdinand, the eldest son of the archduke Charles Louis, who was the brother of the emperor Franz Joseph. After his father died in 1896, Franz Ferdinand was next in succession to the Austro-Hungarian throne.
- Archduke Franz Ferdinand
- The Serbian government formed a terrorist group, the Black Hand, led by Dragutin Dimitrijevic who had the nickname of The Bee. The Bee decided to win Bosnian independence the Black Hand would assassinate a prominent member of the royal family of Austria-Hungary.
- Gavrilo Princip
- Gavrilo Princip was one of the six assassins who assassinated Archduke Franz Ferdinand and his wife Sophie, in Sarajevo on 28 June 1914. After failing to kill the Archduke for the first time, he parted with the group to have lunch. There he happened to spot the Archduke in his car with his wife, so he pulled out his gun and murdered the couple.
- Wow, people in Bosnia are so friendly! They must have been looking forward to my arrival after hearing the news that I will be visiting Sarajevo to inspect troops.
