March 5, 1770,There was a street fight between a patriot mob throwing snowballs, rocks, and sticks, and British soldiers.
Thats what i thought
The patriots started to call the soldiers names and threw stuff at them to hurt them. The soldiers decided that they wouldn't let that slide and made a decision theyll soon regret later.

At first they were patient with the patriots but then they had absolutley enough and started to threaten them with the rifles they had at hand.

One soldier Got hit one to many times by the patriots and was fed up. He hits one of the patriots in the jaw with his rifle as a warning to tell the others to back off. Soon after the rest of the soldiers decide its a good idea to start firing at the partiots. The patriots decide to retreat. But several of them were killed.
Eight soldiers, one officer, and four civilians were arrested and charged with murder, and they were defended by future U.S. President John Adams. Six of the soldiers were acquitted; the other two were convicted of manslaughter and given reduced sentences.
After everything the boston massacre was known to be a sigmal event leading up to the Revolutionary War.
