- The year is 1862, Wilbur had just been amputated in a accident. His owner, Zuckerman, is a confederate sympathiser and owns a lot of slaves. He works all day with little rest, but because he lost his arm, Zuckerman wanted to sell Wilbur for cents. Once he overheard this news, he ran to his cabin
- Work Harder, Slave!
- He told the news to his best friend, Fern Arable, who is the niece of Zuckerman. Charlotte, an elderly woman, was listening to the conversation. She had a way to the North, allowing him to escape slavery, called the Underground Railroad.

- Charlotte had a connection with a soldier inside the confederate army named Templeton, he was a 'rat' on the inside and helped smuggle slaves to the North for a price. Unfortunately, in the middle of escaping, they were caught by Zuckerman and a group of soldiers. Charlotte sacrificed herself to save Wilbur and Fern while Templeton tried to fight them off and shot at Zuckerman, he was wounded and began to perish.
