Hello everybody, My name is Max and I will be your personal narrator during the course of this comic. So...let us commence!
With the Carolinas open to them, the British troops led by General Cornwallis marched through the low country and captured the forces at Cadem. This became America’s worst defeat of the war.
By March of 1780 the British forces besieged Charleston and cut all the American supply lines. As expected, Commander in chief Benjamin Lincoln surrendered all his troops to the British.
Everything started in the early 1779 and 1780 when the British realized that capturing Charleston,South Carolina would give them access to the Carolina heartland and it’s navigable rivers.
A small group of miserably equipped men distinguished by their small black leather caps and the wretchedness of their attire.
With their strategic importance they would pinned down men from the British forces and cause Cornwallis to constantly look over his shoulders
Marion and his men would slip out of the swamps and sand flats to attack the British outdoors and supply lines
This small group mass led by General Francis Marion aka “The Swamp Fox”
Unfortunately for the Major Ferguson and his army these group of frontiersmen did not respond well to the threats. the battle of King ‘s Mountain resulted in the death of Ferguson and many members of his troop.
On October of the same year General Cornwallis sent Major Patrick Ferguson to threaten the mountain men found at the western foothills of South Carolina until they vowed their loyalty to King George III.
This major sequence of events ended with Parliament meeting the American negotiators in Paris to sign the Treaty of Paris in 1783. It acknowledged the independence of the colonies and awarded the United states with the lands East of the Mississippi River except for Florida.
From all these events we can conclude two things:1. Cornwallis was like that evil character in movies that is impossible to kill which causes the movie to get a sequel😂2. This major hardships prove how strategic humanity can be when it needs to. Many of these men like Washington created strategic moves putting them a step ahead in battle.
