Annie, I was wondering if you could answer the question I had. It's been bugging me all day.
Of course! Anything I can do to help! What's the question?
Hi Annie! I was wondering if I could have some helop on today's force and motion homework?
Well, I was just wondering why cars don't slip and slide when they try to drive. What stops them from going over the road?
That's a great question! Luckily, my class just studied that topic this morning!
Wow! It's making a lot more sense but I still don't completeley understand.
Cars don't slip of the road because they have friction. Friction opposes the motion. The rubber tire against the road creates friction and that makes it so the car can be maneuvered without getting into a car crash.
Okay! I'm going to paint you a picture to help you undertsand.
Imagine a runner on a track. They wear special shoes that have grips that help them run. The shoes against the ground create friction enapling them to move. It makes it easier for them to run faster
When someone is ice skating there is less friction on the surface which is why they glide across the surface.
Thank you so much for helping! Everything makes so much sense now!
