Esther’s and Jasmine’s Famous Bakery

- “Esther calls Jasmine”
- Esther: “Hello, Jasmine. How are you doing?”
- Jasmine: “Hey Esther. I am doing good long time don’t see”.
- The next day….
- Esther: “Yes, I know. I’ve been busy. I wanted to talk to you about something. Do you think that we can meet in my bakery?
- Jasmine: “Yes, of course. I am free tomorrow at 2PM”.
- Esther: “Okay! I will be in my bakery at that time. See you then!
- Esther: “Hey, Jasmine.
- Jasmine: “Hey, Esther”.
- Esther: “I wanted to see if we can talk about our bakeries. I feel like our bakeries are struggling. And I think that I have a plan so that we don’t struggle no more”.
- Jasmine: “So, what did you want to talk about?”
- “.Jasmine: “I will like to hear it”.
- Esther: “Jasmine I think that you would be better off making cakes because you can produce more in an hour”.
- Jasmine: “Yes! I’ve been noticing that a lot and I feel like this is a good idea. Esther you would be good doing cupcakes”.
- “Jasmine has the lowest opportunity cost in producing cupcakes because she only gives up 1/4 of a cake to produce 1 cupcake”.”Esther has the lowest opportunity cost in producing cakes because she only gives up 3 cupcakes to produce 1 cake”.
- In the end….
- “Esther has the absolute advantage because she is able to produce 30 cupcakes or 10 cakes in an hour. While Jasmine can produce 20 cupcakes or 5 cakes in an hour. Esther is able to produce more cupcakes or cakes in an hour”.
- Esther and Jasmine’s Bakery
- “Jasmine has the comparative advantage in producing cupcakes because she only gives up 1/4 of a cake to make one cupcake”.
- “Esther has the comparative advantage in producing cakes because she only gives up 3 cupcakes to make one cake”.
- In the end…Esther and Jasmine decide to open a bakery together where Esther specializes in cupcakes while Jasmine specialized in cakes. And they ere very successful.
