  • Dancing! On tippy-toes? It's impossible to do that!
  • Someday I will dance on my toes like this lady. I will be happy too!

  • While in the orphanage in Sierra Leone, Michaela caught a glimpse of a magazine with a ballerina on it and after she showed it to her sister, she kept it as inspiration.

  • Mrs. Sarah, the teacher, talks to Michaela about the ballerina on the front cover of the magazine and tells her that the word ballerina means ‘little dancer’ and how she’ll bring Michaela a book about ballet.

  • I can do this. I’m confident and I’m determined to achieve my dreams!
  •  After the adoption, they arrived at their mothers hotel while Michaela tries to explain to her mother how she wants to be a ballerina by unfolding the magazine cover she brought with her to show her.

  • Michaela was so inspired by Magali Messac on the cover of the magazine and started taking ballet classes. Little did she know this magazine is what helped Michaela determine what she was going to do for the rest of her life.
