  • In 1846 the Native Americans lived in California, specifically in today's San Francisco. San Francisco only had a population of about 500 people and about 15000 Native Americans living in California before the gold rush. The land in San Francisco consisted with very little built up homes and wider streets for the people.
  • In March 1848 reporting of California's gold were released and many left their cities. More than 80,000 people came after the news. Many of these people were either Mexican, American, Chinese, or French from all around the world. Even the food cost increase at the time and men would pay to admire women from afar making them rich.

  • At last in around 1850 many of the miners settled to the land of San Francisco as California was left with little gold. In this new city built by diversity during the gold rush everyone's mind was businesslike and in much of a hurry still trying to get rich or somehow get back home. This made the city very prosperity and growing to support the people. Many of the homes were built by the wealthy with wooden two-floor homes with bright paint but also luxurious in the inside and out.
