- The two families meet at Romeo and Juliet’s statues with heavy hearts. They wait to hear the news that the nurse and Friar Lawrence plan to tell them. The nurse and Friar Lawrence discuss what they will say to the families.
- 2. We need to calm down. It is their right to know what truly happened to their children.
- 1. How do we put this down lightly?! Surely as soon as we open our mouths they will go back to fighting and punish us for this secret! This could go completely wayward!
- 3. I don’t like this plan, I’m afraid that they will punish us terribly for this heavy secret… but Friar is trusted and wise. I can rely on him to make the right choice. (Now speaking out loud) Ok you're right. (Takes a deep breath) Let's go.
- They go meet the families and fill them in on the marriage between Romeo and Juliet, doing it with the Friar’s help, and that Friar gave Juliet the poison to fake her death, and the nurse helped with the plan for marriage and knew the whole time.
- 1. (His eyes begin to fill as though they were a waterfall) IT'S ALL YOUR FAULT. YOU UNTRUSTWORTHY MONTAGUES.
- 2. YOU SLITHERING, SLIMY, WRITHING SNAKE! I ABHOR YOUR FAMILY! YOU'VE ALWAYS BEEN SO HAUGHTY!
- This feud is not over! It will never be over!
- The families storm off to their homes and don’t look back.
- Well that went well.
