- The men in the Paleolithic Era hunted small animals and as their skills and weapons improved they started hunting bigger animals.

- Farming allowed nomads to stay in one place. They also learned to plan for their next harvest.
- Because of farming people started living were the farms were. They built houses like these and started civilization.

- Stone age hunters and gathers lived in bands of about 10-12 people and their children. Most of these bands were nomads and traveled from place during the seasons.Usually Women and girls gathered fruit,nuts, etc. while the men hunted. As their skills and weapons improved they started hunting bigger animals.
- As herds and crops improved, the amount of food farmers made every year increased. Some families raised a surplus to feed themselves. Not everyone in the village needed to farm when there was a surplus of food. This allowed others to specialize in a craft. Then they could trade what they made for food.
- People lived in houses made of mud and reeds. Houses were close together so people walked around on the roofs and entered by a ladder in a hole in the roof. Farming also made a new source of clothing. People used plants and animal fibers for cloth. Wool and other animal hair had fibers used for yarn and thread.
