- After Maniacs parents died he started to live with his grandparents. His grandparents however were horrible and hated each other. One day Maniacs grandparents took him to a play but maniac ended up wandering on stage and cried.
- Maniac had a rival named Mars Bar. Mars bar had a nickname for Maniac, and that nickname was fish belly. One day Maniacs step mother and step sister tried to stop him from seeing what Mars had wrote on the wall but it was too late.
- Maniacs friend was drowning in a river but maniac didn't save him because that was the place where his parents died. Mars saw this happen and tried to talk to Maniac after he ran away.
- Maniac ran out of the movie theater and into the street. He ran away from his grandparents that probably didn't even realize he was gone. Maniac just kept running and running and running.
- Maniac and Amanda got into a argument. Maniac says that he will survive on his own (which he probably will). According to the book "I survived on my own before so I can do it again."
- Amanda found both of them and yelled at Maniac. Mars Bar asked if Maniac wanted to live with him, but he refused. Amanda grabbed Maniac's arm and pulls him up and says "We're going" Maniac questions "Where?" Amanda answers "Home, my home, your home, my home who cares we're going home."
