Storyboard Text

  • American Indians of the Great Plains
  • In the Eastern part of the treeless region it has soft soil and more water while the western part is drier and the short dense grass provided Bison with food. Every few month a group of American Indians would hunt Bison herds, that they followed for most of the year. They would hunt with horses and bows. Lastly they would store dried meat to survive the winter.
  • Since the American Indians didn't hunt bison often most people would farm. They used bison for many different things other than food, such as shelter. The bison tendons would be used as thread to sew bison hides and put on a cone of poles to make a tepee. The hides would also be used for bowstrings, clothing, fuel for fire, and shields.
