Storyboard Text

  • "O devil, devil! If that the earth could teem with woman's tears,Each drop she falls would prove a crocodile” (lV.I.244-246)
  • "I will not stay to offend you."
  • In this example, the couple can be see where "normal" clothes (a more relaxed casual outfit.) In addition they are holding hands and are walking along the beach. In this situation modern "Othello" reassures his partner he trusts her but other people are giving him ideas concerning her. "Desdemona" tells Othello her opinion which is different compared to the scene on the left. She tells him she would not lie to him. She also suggests that he ask his friends why they think that. It can be seen to the reader that there is trust in this relationship.
  • Othello and Desdemona are having an argument. Heclaims that the tear of a woman could prove a crocodile (reference to crocodile tears), this is sexist because Othello is accusing women of crocodile tears in order to seduce a man to get what they want.Desdemonareplies to this comment by saying she is leaving so she doesn't offend him. Instead of sticking up for herself and sharing her opinion.
  • I trust you, but people say should not. I believe in you and your opinions but is there a reason my friends say otherwise?
  • I am not lying to you, and I never would. I love you so much. In my opinion you should ask your friends why they think that way.
