- Cady the main character in the book We Were Liars wakes up in the middle of the night. She suddenly receives a memory from summer 15.

- Outside in the dark night Cadys sees (at least in her mind), Aunt Carrie sobbing and shaking, she looked green like she was on the verge of throwing up. She was in this blue jacket... was it Johnnys jacket?
- Cady rushes out of bed and dashes downs stairs. Confusion is rushing through her brain. Why would aunt Carrie be waring Jonny's jacket and crying? What is she not remembering? Cady heads over to cuddle town.
- She got into cuddle town and walked around. At first she didn't notice but Mirren was there. She was curled up under a blanket. Mirren Noticed that she was there and asked her why she was up.
- Cady tells Mirren about her recent memory. She's confused and emotions are going through her brain but all she can think about is what actually happen summer 15. What was she missing? She needed to ask Mirren. When she did ask Mirren said that mommy told her that she would remember and that they had to leave her but Cady didn't understand why she couldn't just tell her.
- "It was a messed up summer" (145) "Thats all I can say my darling Cady"(145).
- "Tell me what happened"(145).
- Cady could no longer attempt to squeeze out the missing piece of her brain the was called summer 15 from Mirren. On another topic Mirren hadn't been feeling well lately. She had been too sick for any activity and hadn't been going to the main land for super, though she refused to tell bess because it was probably "a cold." Cady went the the fridge to get her a ginger ale.
- "I cannot argue anymore. I get her a ginger ale and we turn on the television"(145)
