Supplies from Britain and the U.S was still coming in. At this time there was more air traffic than ever in West Berlin. Often there would be a crash or two due to how many planes would be in the air. U.S and Britain pilots would be harassed by Soviet pilots trying to knock them off course.

Children in West Berlin would get sweet visits from Lt. Gail Halvorsen. Halvorsen would deliver chocolate bars via planes to kids in the hope to make them smile. he set his first mission on July 12, 1948, without permission of any commander officer giving him the okay to do so. During the blockade, he was able to drop off 23 tons of chocolate to the children in Berlin and was able to encourage other pilots to do the same
The airlift showed that the U.S and Britain did not fear the soviets and they were not going to back down. Soviet forces were told to abandon all blockades on May 12, 1949, because they were experiencing economic issues still
It took 4 months for all airlifts to come to a complete stop after the Soviets surrendered and the blockade was lifted. they waited so long because they didn't want the Soviets to interfere while things were being transported. The blockade was a factor in the NATO act being created
