Mrs Smith has noticed that her student, Johnny, has missed class for 3 days in a row

She first looks at Johnny's attendance chart and tries to notice any previous patterns in absences or if Johnny had excused absences.
His absences aren't excused and he has previous absences.

So Mrs. Smith tries to contact Johnny's parents to see why he hasn't been at school. But they fail to answer multiple times.
I can't seem to get a hold of Johnny's parents...

Mrs. Smith decides to tell the school what has been going on with Johnny and that she can't contact his parents. The school starts sending emails and making phone calls to Johnny's parents to see if they answer.

After getting in contact with Johnny's parents, the school decides to set up an intervention plan to help Johnny catch up on what he's missed and to stop missing school.
