- The setting is at the Beach, It was during the Day. Jack and his Hunters Maurice and Bill. While some of the boys are at the swimming hole, Jack and his hunters paint their faces as Camouflage to go hunting.
- Piggy's Glasses
- "The job was too much. We needed everyone" Page 71
- "You would, would you? Fatty!" page 71
- The setting is at the beach, during the noon. Ralph and Piggy. The boys at the swimming hole see smoke from a ship. They run to see if the signal fire is burning and it is not.
- Starting the fire
- "Alright light the fire"Page 72
- The setting is at the forest, at Noon. Ralph, Piggy, Jack and his Hunters. The Hunters have killed the pig. They are proud and excited but get upset when they find out about the ship.
- Meeting
- "I was chief, and you were going to do what I said. You talk. But you can't even build huts then you go off hunting and let out the fire page 70-71
- The setting was in the forest, at noon. Ralph, Piggy, and Jack. Ralph and Jack argue. Piggy starts to cry and Jack hits him breaking his glasses.

- Forest, at noon. Ralph and Piggy. Ralph uses the unbroken side of Piggy's glasses to start a fire to eat the pig.
- Forest, Night. Ralph, Piggy, Jack, Littluns, Hunters. After they eat the pig, Ralph decides to call a meeting
