  • Boston Massacre
  • FIRE!
  • After the British got control, they started to create new rules that the American colonists had to follow. They created the Stamp act. This act made colonists pay for any paper goods and be taxes for just writing a letter. These finances were used to pay back the British for protecting an fighting for the colonists. The colonists were angered by this and didn't think it was fair.
  • Boston Tea Party
  • Even though these acts the British were making were creating tension between the groups, the British kept going. They created the Townshed act. This act taxed the colonists of tea an other goods. At the time tea was used everyday and overtime would get extremely expensive. The colonists were enraged and started rioting.
  • Coercive Inttolerant act
  • In 1770 the British solders shot 5 unarmed colonists. No one truly knows if this was on purpose, if the solders got orders from the captain, or why they shot the colonists. The colonists were once again furious by this and threatened the British. Protests continued which made the British worried an outbreak may start.
  • Only three years after the Boston Massacre, the colonists were done with putting up with the British's acts. They didn't think being taxed was fair and wanted justice for all they have done. Some colonists decided to dump all the British's tea into the Boston Harbor. This was over 92,000 tons of tea and around 1 million dollars wasted.
  • After the Boston Tea Party the British were fed up with the colonists. They wrote 5 acts to punish the colonists which were the Boston Port Act, the Massachusets Government act, the Administration of Justice act, and the Quartering act. These rules caused the colonists to have no privacy, peoples jobs to be lost, many colonists died in trials, and no goods to be imported/exported in and out of Boston.
