  • In '' The Monster Are Due on Maple Street'' by Rod Serling one of the main themes are blaming/violence doesn't solve problems. Blaming/violence doesn't solve problems is one main themes because in ''The Monsters Are Due on Maple Street'' on page 82 Charlie and the other people see a dark figure in the distance and Charlie snatches the shotgun from Steve and shot the dark figure as it made its way, that dark figure was Don. This shows that blaming/violence doesn't solve problems because Charlie could have yelled out who it is or wait to get a better look at who it is. Another reason why blaming/violence doesn't solve problems is one main themes because on page 84 in ''The Monsters Are Due on Maple Street'' Charlie starts to out the blame on Tommy saying that he is the monster when Charlie doesn't have any evidence that Tommy is the monster. This shows that blaming/violence doesn't solve problems because Charlie is just blaming Tommy without evidence that he is the monster which is just adding more to the problem. Finally blaming/violence doesn't solve problems is one of the main themes because at the end of the story the people didn't know who was the monster and started to lose trust, also the people are going crazy throwing rocks and hurts each other. This show that blaming/violence doesn't solve problems is one main themes because they can solve their problem without blaming or using violence towards one other.
