- Today we will be working on an ABC center that we have done before!
- By the end of pre-k, we want everyone to be able to write and spell their first AND last name. We are going to keep going with our first names, but if you can already do this then start working on your last name!
- You will need a piece of paper, a marker, and small objects. First, an adult will use a yellow marker to write your name using large letters on a piece of paper. Then you're going to use the little pieces to trace out your name. Remember to say the letter name when you are done tracing it!
- Let's look at an example using my name. If the adult is writing the name, use a yellow marker so your child can trace their name when we are done.

- Have your child trace their name using the manipulative you've chosen (beans, cheerios, whatever you have). When they finish a letter, have them tell you the name of it. Continue to make comments such as, Oh look that's an E. E is the first letter in your name. Next comes the c.

- When you have gone through each letter, try to trace your name using whatever writing utensil you have. Great job today! I can't wait to see a picture of your ABC center!
