- The man raised his right hand and said: I want my son to live again, nothing happened, they both went back to sleep, the darkness was oppressive so the man looked for a match and went downstairs to look for a candle, there were blows in On the way, the man with a lot of fear returned to the room and closed the door and there the third thump was heard. What is that? asked the woman
- A week later Mrs. White remembered the monkey's paw and asked Mr. White to make her second wish: That Herbert come back to life. Mr. Herbert didn't want to do it but he ended up doing it.
- A mouse, said the man, that crossed my path on the stairs, said the man. The lady got up quickly from the bed and said aloud, it's Herbert! and she began to run towards the door but her husband caught up with her to stop her but he still couldn't, the Lady ran towards the door, but she can't reach the bolt and the husband took advantage of that time to look for the monkey's paw.
- The blows resounded throughout the house and the man was already hearing that his wife was approaching a chair to reach the monkey's paw at the same moment she found the monkey's paw and made her third and last wish, the blows suddenly stopped and the husband heard the door open, a long and inconsolable cry from the woman gave him the courage to run towards her and then up to the gate the road was deserted and quiet.
