It all started when I was in third grade and it was career day and I decided to want to become a teacher.
I started to pay more attention in my classes so that I could gain more knowledge to prepare me for the future.
I also learned that some children have different behavior patterns that may be hard to deal with as a teacher. For example, aggression is expressed through violence or even bullying but ways teachers can help solve this behavior issue is by showing the kids that it's okay to communicate how you feel and that it's better to speak about it than lash out on others.
High School came around and I started looking into information on teachers and what they have to teach and how they teach students that struggle with some of the lesson.
My choir teacher told me that its best to follow your dreams and to go wherever your heart leads you to and it inspired me to strive for what im passionate about.
I decided to reach out and so I asked my teacher (who was in charge of the child development program) if I could get into his class because I really want to become a teacher in the future.
Some things I learned while teaching is you can include food, candy or even a small games to help students understand a lesson if necessary and safe like in math you could put 5 pieces of candy and take away 2 and It would help students who need to see the lesson visually.
My senior year I was able to get a hands on experience with teaching kids and seeing how they learn and understand lessons.
