Hi, my name is Celie. And this is the story of my families heritage
Meet the Fortners
That's all I could find about my family.
-Introduction-
My aunts, uncles, and momIn order, Tracee, Jeff, Leslie, Cameron, Drew.
The OGs. Beverly and Luke
Luke grew up on a farm in Lexington, North Carolina, along with his 17 other siblings.
Beverly grew up in Tarrytown, New York with her 6 other siblings
In 1905, my ancestor, Genaro Grasso (January), left his family and traveled to America from Naples, Italy, on a ship called Calibra. He was only 16 years old.
After getting to New York, he realized that he had no where to go, no family, friends, or any type of connections to stay with. Genaro
Years went by, and January met a girl and had a family with her. They had 6 children but two died due to infections. January and one of his sons, my Great Grandpa Tony, built a house together for their family.
Genaro was describe as a typical Italian man. he always wore a red wool flannel, always smelt like garlic, was always singing Italian songs, and loved to garden. One day while gardening, he realized he grew a 5ft squash and a 2lbs tomato.
