- The OGs. Beverly and Luke
- Luke grew up on a farm in Lexington, North Carolina, along with his 17 other siblings.
- Beverly grew up in Tarrytown, New York with her 6 other siblings
- In 1905, my ancestor, Genaro Grasso (January), left his family and traveled to America from Naples, Italy, on a ship called Calibra. He was only 16 years old.
- After getting to New York, he realized that he had no where to go, no family, friends, or any type of connections to stay with. Genaro
- Years went by, and January met a girl and had a family with her. They had 6 children but two died due to infections. January and one of his sons, my Great Grandpa Tony, built a house together for their family.
- Genaro was describe as a typical Italian man. he always wore a red wool flannel, always smelt like garlic, was always singing Italian songs, and loved to garden. One day while gardening, he realized he grew a 5ft squash and a 2lbs tomato.
