- The story opens on the streets of Verona, right after a fight between the two families causing havoc. With the family's feud disturbing Verona for many years, the Prince had enough. So he threatens them if their feud disrupts his city again.
- You two families have disturbed these streets of Verona for the last time! For if it shall happen again, your lives will be the consequence.
- After thinking long and hard about whether to go to the Capulet's feast Romeo finally decides to go and falls in love with Juliet. They then decide to get married. But then Romeo is spotted by Tybalt and is about to get into a fight.
- Romeo! What is he doing here?
- She is so beautiful. For if only I can get her alone
- Tybalt goes looking for Romeo but finds Mercutio and Benvolio. They end up in a disagreement, then Romeo comes and Tybalt and Mercutio get into a fight. Causing Tybalt to kill Mercutio under Romeo's arm. Then out of rage Romeo kills Tybalt, causing Romeo to get banished from Verona.
- Romeo you must leave!
- Nooooo! Mercutio!
