Storyboard Text

  • In this scene, Eurylochus, who went onto the island with a group of men, comes running back, crying about foul magic. Circe, the witch on this island, turned the rest of the men into pigs!
  • Down to the ship Eurylochus came running to cry alarm, foul magic doomed his men!(Homer 1225)
  • In this scene, Odysseus, disguised as a poor beggar, strings his hunting bow, and shoots it through the 12 axe heads. As he strings it, Zeus sends a crack of thunder, as a sign, and all the suitors are hushed.
  • "In the hushed hall it smote the suitors and all their faces changed. Then Zeus thundered overhead, one loud crack for a sign." (Homer 1255)
  • "Telemachus, the stranger you welcomed in your hall does not disgrace you. I did not miss, neither did I take all day stringing the bow."
  • In this scene, Odysseus, Telemachus, the swineherd, and the cowherd all start slaughtering the suitors. One of the suitors tries to plead for mercy, but Odysseus is too enraged. After killing one, he speaks the quote above. He and his helpers proceed to slaughter all of the suitors.
