The main goal of the first crusade was to protect Christian Pilgrims.
The other goal was to retake Jerusalem. Jerusalem was captured by Turks who constantly harassed pilgrims
Crusader states were made as a result of the first crusade.
Despite the setbacks, the first crusade was success. The crusaders captured Jerusalem.
The crusaders also turned back the Turk's advance onConstantinople
Multiple Leader tried to lead a second Crusade. However, this Crusade failed.
There were several reasons the second crusade failed.The crusade's leaders argued and the crusade was unable to gain enough support.
Because of the fail of the second crusade, rulers of England and Germany organized a third crusade.

Saladin and Richard signed a truce that ended the crusade. Jews were free to travel.
The fourth crusade was an embarrassment for the Pope. Instead if funding their campaign, they looted Christian cities
IN 1204, crusaders stormed Constantinople, the rich Byzantine capital. IN 1212, a popular crusading movement swept across France and Germany.
Although several more crusades were launched, the crusaders were slowly forced out of the Holy Land
Finally, in 1291, Egyptian Muslims defeated the last crusader state.
Muslims described their campaigns as holy war.
