- The Argument Between Two Sides

- I don't really know...(both Sam's side and dad's side are reasonable.)
- I'm always on Sam's side!

- Sam and Mr. Meeker are having an argument about the current situation that the story is plotted in. Sam wants to make a change in the revolutionary war by being a soldier while Mr. Meeker opposes his claim because of his experience as a soldier and wants no war.
- The Unexpected
- Sorry Papa
- Tim is left between the side of Sam and Mr. Meeker. For Tim, he couldn't really decide on which side he is supporting on as both sides are clearly reasonable to him, but now Sam is convincing Tim that his side is clearly right and so is Betsy, Sam's girlfriend.
- Reunion of Family
- Me too!
- After Sam runs away from home, he joins the Rebel Army. Now that he is in the Army, he needs to get a gun. So Sam eventually steals his dad's gun and goes to his hideout. Tim knowing about Sam's plan and that he is sleeping in the hideout tries to steal the gun because the Rebel soldiers have come to the tavern, searching for a gun. However, he gets caught in the process, but eventually, both return to the house, and no one was hurt.
- Bad Ending?
- While Tim's journey of trading with his father, the cowboys have kidnapped his father. Tim was put into another choice of him either saving his father and risk losing the goods, which will make them hard to survive through the winter, or running away and leaving him behind. Tim justifies him running away and leaving his father behind as that's something that his father would also do to save the family instead. Because of the good's that they traded, Tim and his mother were able to survive through the winter.
- After months of Sam being gone, Sam gets to visit his family again and reunite with them as the British troops invading the Town of Redding. This alerted the Rebel Army to follow them to stop the raiding. It was a short but powerful event that happened in the story.
- You're finally back! I missed you so much!
- Unfortunately, Mr. Meeker ended up dying in a prison ship from the cholera virus. Now, the matured Tim has to take care and run everything that his father did. Another bad news is that Sam was wrongly convicted as a cattle theft, but he was actually chasing the two robbers from the tavern. Although Tim and his mother tried proving his innocence, nothing changed. Tim tried to break free Sam before his execution, but his plan failed and Sam was shot to death.
