- The official definition of a satellite is a moon, planet or machine that orbits a planet or star.
- As we will learn satellites are extremely important as they are useful and extremely relevant in todays society.
- Artificial Satellites, which we are looking at are machines that orbit and therefore collect information on its surroundings.

- Satellites are used for many different jobs, on of the most important ones is navigation. to get from point A to point B using technology we are using information derived from the findings of satellites.
- Transferring Data
- Another main use of satellites is Earth observation and imagery. This helps thoroughly with geology and geographical discoveries as there are over 2,500 satellites orbiting the Earth right now!
- A common use of artificial satellites that isn't well known is the transportation of instruments and passengers to space stations or a specific space to perform experiments.
- Transporting astronauts from satellite to space station, so there they can conduct there experiment.
- From this storyboard it is obvious that satellites are extremely necessary in todays digital society.
