- Anglos and Emprasarios.
- Mexico has begun letting emprasarios,like Stephen f. Austin, settle people in texas.
- 1835 Dictator takes power
- I have taken control!
- Cannon Battle
- Retreat!

- Due to empresario contracts, anglos from the U.S. were moving into Texas. Stephen F. Austin was the most successful empresario followed by Green DeWitt.
- Battle of the Alamo
- Santa Anna made himself dictator and at first the Texans liked him, but they ended up not liking him as he made moves against them.
- Battle of San Jacinto
- Remember the Alamo!
- No more slave states!
- Santa Anna attempts to take back a cannon lent to the Texans. His forces are met with a large Texan gathering.The Texans fired the cannon and the mexicans retreated to San Antonio.
- Statehood
- Santa Anna leads the mexican army into San Antonio and attacks the Alamo. The Texans fight for thirteen days but finally surrendered. The Texans are led by George Collinsworth and Benjamin Milan.
- Attack!
- This battle lasted 18 minutes and there were more Mexicans dead than Texans.It also won Texas its independence.There were 1,500 Mexicans and 800 Texans.
- Remember Goliad!
- Texas gained statehood in 1845.They wanted to join as a slave state.The rest of the union did not.
- We will join as a slave state!
