- Okay class, now I’m going to list the homework on the board.
- Uhh, I dislike homework!
- Hey kiddo, could you help me rake the leaves?
- Sure, I'll help after dinner.
- It was an autumn afternoon, in the classroom, Mrs. Wilkens said, “Okay class, now I’m going to list the homework on the board.” “Ugh, I dislike homework,” Jack thought as he started drawing on his desk. As the bell rang a thought appeared in his head. “I’ll just not do my work,” Jack thought as he left the school.
- Jack, can you help me with the dishes?
- I have to rake the leaves with Dad.
- After his mom drove him home, Jack went to his backyard, where his dad said, “Hey kiddo, could you help me rake the leaves?” Jack told him he’d help him after dinner.
- Hey kiddo, now that we’ve finished dinner could you help me rake the leaves.
- Sorry, but I’ve got to do the dishes for mom. Plus, it’s getting dark out, we'll do it tomorrow.
- Hey Jack, could you help me with the dishes now?
- Once he got into the house he ate dinner with his parents. After dinner, his mom asked, “Jack, can you help me with the dishes?” Jack told his mom that he had to rake the leaves with his dad.
- Shortly after, Jack and his dad went into the living room. His dad said, “Hey kiddo, now that we’ve finished dinner could you help me rake the leaves?” “Sorry, but I’ve got to do the dishes for mom. Plus, it’s getting dark out,” Jack stated, “we’ll do it tomorrow.”
- After this, while he was walking back to his room, his mom asked, “Hey Jack, could you help me with the dishes now?” “Sorry, but I can’t, I have homework to do.” “Why can’t you do the dishes first, and then do your homework?” Mom proposed. “C’mon mom, I got a lot of work and a test coming up.” Jack argued. “Alright, just go to bed by 8,” Mom said in a stern voice, “and don’t overwork yourself!” as Jack went to his room.
