My self-Maria Sharapova and I was at first position on 22 August 2005 in women's tennis and I am a Siberian. It took me 4 years to reach the pinnacle and started my journey to become no. 1 player at the age of 9 and went on trip with my father Yuri but my mother couldn't with her because of visa restriction, so couldn't celebrate my 10th birthday and it led to 2-year separation from my mother.
I sacrificed a lot to gain excellence in tennis and missed my mother a lot as father was mostly at work to earn money for Maria's training and I slept at 8 Pm as I was youngest there and seniors came till 11 Pm and waked me up and ordered me to clean the room to disturb me and all this made me a tough.
I was very determined and never thought to quit and because of this I won the women's single crown at Wimbledon in 2004 and became no. 1 tennis player in the world in 2005 and my mantra for success was: -I am very, very competitive. I work hard at what I do, It's my job. Food I liked were pancakes with chocolate spread, orange fizzy drinks.
