- Arriving at the adult age, on November 4 of 1866, forced by her father, she married with Angel Cancino Arce, a somewhat older widower, tax collector and man of liberal ideas.

- A short time later they settled in Toluca, state of Mexico, when Angel Cancino was appointed administrator of the Timbre of that City. With the help of God and with his loving effort, he converted the harshness of exile into an experience of grace.

- María decided to dedicate her life to the formation of her daughter, putting in her, illusions and ideals that will flourish later, when she ends up following in her mother's footsteps and her own spiritual growth, putting her talents at the service of others.
