- George was really mean to Lennie and picked with him because Lennie didn't know any better. Once George told Lennie to jump into the water and Lennie did it without hesitation but Lennie couldn't swim.

- Carlson wanted to kill Candy's dog because he had arthritis, he doesn't have teeth, and he stinks really bad so Slim gave him permission to shoot him.

- George, Lennie, and Candy sat around the table and decided to move into a house in exactly a month.
- I didn't mean to hurt him
- Curly is angry because he thinks Slim is with his wife but Slim shuts that down while Curly is fuming with anger.
- Lennie is laughing with happiness but Curly thinks he's laughing at his situation with his wife so he starts to beat him up and Lennie doesn't fight back.
- Lennie finally grabs his fist but he doesn't let go and breaks every bone in Curly's hand but feels bad after.
