Storyboard Text

  • Hello, My name is Mya and today i am going to show you the three different types of rocks (the rock cycle)
  • The first type of rock is the Igneous rock which is formed when hot molten rock crystallises and solidifies.
  • intrusive igneous rocks form at a depth within the crust due to slow cooling of magma, resulting in formation of large crystals.
  • There are two groups of Igneous rocks, intrusive and extrusive, which depends on wether the molten rock solidifies.
  • The second rock is the sedimentary rock which is formed by pre - existing rocks or pieces of once-living organism that accumulate on the earths surface. If sediment is buried deeply, it becomes compacted and cemented which forms a sedimentary rock.
  • Sedimentary rocks can have little crystal particles but not every sedimentary rock has crystals.
  • A sedimentary rock is a non renewable source because rocks take a very long time to form properly.
