- The Gods had a council and it was decided that Enkidu would be killed. Enkidu slowly wasted away Gilgamesh did not want to lose Enkidu.
- Who will remeber my name?
- Gilgamesh mourns the death of Enkidu and gets a lot of expensive things for him.
- Enkidu, may the gazelles of the grassland mourn you, and the animals at the watering hole. May the path that winds through the cedar forest mourn you, by day and by night. May the elders of strong-walled Uruk mourn you. Hear me: The young men who cheered for us weep for you now. The rivers weep for you, and the mountains too.
- Gilgamesh after Enkidu's death worried about death so he set out to find how to become imortal.
- No light shines within them and darkness is dense. I must cross these mountains let me pass.

- Gilgamesh was given the challenge after hearing the story of the flood. His challenge was to stay awake for a week Gilgamesh however failed the challenge. Uta-Utnapishtim wife convinced him to tell Gilgamesh how to become immortal. Gilgamesh had to dive underwater and find a plant. Gilgamesh was able to get the plant but he decided to take a bath and a snake and stole it. Gilgamesh disappointed went back to Uruk and inscribed his story.
