- Montressor had been plotting against Forunato for quite some time now. He had a devious plan. A quite simple plan yet very effective. He would meet up with Forunato at the festival first thougb
- Falling Action
- Montressor was going to take Forunato to his wine celler to try some wines. Yet he would go in but never come out. That was his most excellent plan
- Resolution
- A drunken Fortunato follows after Montressor foolishly. They make there way down to the wine chamber. Suddenly Montressor hits Fortunato upon the head with a heavy blow. Fortunato was unable to move due to the strike.
- Montressor quickly chains him to the ground which he fell upon.. As the drunkenness of Fortunato wears off he comes to terms with what had just happened. Violently Fortunato began to wail and thrust himself about, as if to free himself.
- Fortunato begged and begged but to no effect. Montressor scoffed in his face, Ha! Ha! ha!-he a very good joke indeed, then telling about how they will laugh about this over some wine. Fortunato kept begging byt Montressor wasn't listening and left him there.
